The apartment is located in the attic. Mansard roof is a very complex space from the designers’ point of view. The rooms are small, there are few sources of natural light, the ceilings are irregular in shape. We wanted to preserve its distinctive feature. It was necessary to preserve its relaxed, slightly bohemian atmosphere, while eliminating all the shortcomings. We visually enlarged the room with the help of light tones. Now the rooms seem more spacious and brighter. The cold minimalism was softened with the help of natural materials’ textures. We have arranged a lacquered trefoil table, an artificially aged wooden panel, wool carpets with an abstract pattern, linen pillow covers and other picturesque elements.
Also we have solved much more complex tasks. Our team has redone absolutely everything: the walls, communications and roof. There wasn’t enough space for a living room. The area was enlarged through the use of terrace by pushing out the wall. Natural light was still not enough. A glass facade and a “tea house” have been designed, which offers a magnificent view of the old town. The interior turned out to be concise, functional and comfortable.
